During the Christmas 2006 period (25 Dec 2006 - 3 Jan 2007), we encountered a critical error in our website causing product registrations and update checks to fail with errors like :

Check for updates unusual reply: SERVER- Error locating user who last registered your product. Detailed error: #HYOOO Can't open file: 'registrations_users.MYI' (errno: 145).

Using the automatic registration process built-in to the software appeared to succeed but resulted in failure of the registration and consequent lack of email containing the activation code.
