12016  Warning "The Backup Utility cannot connect to the removable storage service"

You can receive this error when you run the first backup on a Windows XP Home System or a Windows Media Center Edition of Windows. This service is not needed for Enhanced Windows Backup unless your destination drive for the backups is on removable storage. Tick the "do not show me this message" again box the first time you run a backup and this message will not trouble you again

If you do propose to use removable storage then you can enable the service as instructed in the message by right clicking on My Computer and selecting "Manage". Then select the Services node under "Services and Applications" and scroll down to the removable storage service. Right click on it, select Properties and change Startup Type to Automatic. This will cause the service to start automatically every time you start windows. To start it immediately, Right-click on Removable Storage Service and select "Start".
