This article describes a fault discovered in Enhanced Windows Backup version 1.1.1003. The problem occurs in USA locales and possibly other non-UK locales where the date is formatted mm/dd/yyyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy. The fault is fixed in v1.1.1004 and user's should upgrade if experiencing the problem. Upgrades do not requires re-registration and you do not lose any settings. Fault Description When you create the first backup job and start the backup engine to run it (or “run now”), a date string is written into the EWB_config.xml configuration file to record the last time this job was run. This date can also been seen in the jobs list, last run column. The date was formatted in UK locale format, irrespective of system locale. When the backup engine runs its next iteration to decide which job to run, it tries to read this date and convert it into an internal date format. At this point an exception is thrown as follows :-
